LAMA DOWN UNDER  tells the history of the lama industry in Australia from the first abortive attempts to import lamas and alpacas in the 1800s to the trials and tribulations of Berry & Liz Carter in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

 

In addition to the history, the book  provides information about lama reproduction, feeding lama, and lama health and temperament under Australian conditions. This information is liberally interspersed with wonderful photographs and anecdotes gleaned from the Carter’s lama farming experiences.
